More Shimelle Inspriration!

I used another Shimelle sketch/ class as inspiration for this page. This time from the September 4x6 Photo Love. I have had this Hambly transparency in my stash for at least a year now.. but could never find the "perfect" way to use it! I had a lot of photos from a water gun fight last summer that I wanted to scrap, but I did not want to go the double page spread route. I used this same layout last month as well, but it was for a different album so even though it is pretty distinctive I thought that it was safe for me to use it again.
I broke out the Echo Park - Summer Days collection again for this page. I am in a bright color mood lately! I am not really loving the "water gun fight" title, and will probably switch out the letter stickers for something a little cleaner, most likely white, since there is so much going on on the page. I also need to track down the date to add to the Fun in the Sun journaling spot, and add the journaling to the pull out cards. I was losing the light and wanted to take a decent picture before it got too dark!

I did it!!! LOAD Days 27-29

Oh wow.. I can not believe that February is over and that I actually completed a layout every single day last month! And it was not as hard as I thought it would be!
Day 27 - For this layout I used the 4x6 Photo Love - September layout by Shimelle Lain and 2 Peas. The green "tags" pull put and have more photos on the back. I actually had this just on the white background at first.. but it was too plain. I had already stitched the transparency to the CS though. So I decided to go with Kraft to complement the embellishments and did the same ink splattering on it. I cut it down to fit inside the pocket, and it looks like it was meant to be there!
Supplies: The Kraft CS is Bazzill, White CS is Recollections, Tim Holtz Tissue tape, K&Co Smash Tape, PTI ribbon, PP and green CS. Hambly Transparency, EKSuccess stickers
Day 28 - Hugs from Minnie -This layout was a quickie since I did not feel good.
Supplies: CS - White:Recollections, Orange: DCWV, Blue: PTI;  KI Memories stickers, Thickers alphas, Hambly transparency
Day 29 - Love Always - Lauren made this heart in school for valentines day. When she brought it home I asked if I could use it in my scrapbook and almost every day since she has asked me when I am going to scrapbook it. I let her choose which photo to use, and she chose this self portrait of herself with Sira
Supplies: Kraft CS - Bazzill, Pink and White CS - PTI, KI Memories scribbles, White gel pen (can't remember!!) and homemade glimmer sprays in red, white and pink.
My LOAD stack! 32 pages (a couple were double page spreads)

Day 1 of LOAD

I did it! I completed a layout for the 1st day of LOAD. I used the 4X6 Photo Love - November laoyout for this one, but instead of 11 pics I have 12! A double page spread with a 6X12 divided protector in the middle.

Disney Cruise Album.. and a tip

I was actually quite productive in the craft room this weekend! I put away all of the seasonal stuff and made 5 layouts for the cruise album! As with my other cruise layouts I kept the same color scheme and used the Two Peas 4x6 Photo Love course as inspiration. 3 of the layouts below are all based on the same sketch (February's), but I rotated the layout and used different photo sizes so that they were not identical.
I am not loving all of the white space on "Waiting to Board"  I might add some more paint/ glimmer mist splatters... but I am not sure yet. The flat top eyelets and letter stickers have been in my stash for YEARS and I am glad to finally use them.

This is the page that faces "Waiting to Board". It is not exactly a 2 page layout, and there is a piece of paper between the two pages that has the boarding itinerary on it, but I wanted it to flow.
For "and so it begins" I based the layout on the January 4x6 photo love layout. I know that the January layout had only 1 photo, but it was still the inspiration! The title was cut on my Cricut and came from Kerri Bradford . I love her stuff and have purchased a bunch of titles from her for my scrapbooking! The title is cut from CS from my stash and PTI's Bitty Dot Basics paper. The buttons I have had in my stash for a while. The bling is from Michaels and was colored red with a sharpie.
As I was digging though my paper trying to find the paper that I had set aside for this album I ran across the Echo Park - Splash Collection, and it fit with my color scheme perfectly!  "I love swimming" uses the February 4x6 photo love layout, rotated 90 degrees.
"dance" also uses the Echo Park - Splash collection. I added stickles to the swirl to match the Dance sticker, and also added her nickname "Lolo" in the bottom right corner in stickles.  The yellow star is actually acrylic that I added some yellow paint to the edges. The silver star charms are more from my very old stash. Of course as I was looking through Kerri's blog to find the title for "and so it begins" to add into the supplies list I saw the PERFECT title for this one in a set that I already own (Say What #1)! I am not sure if I am going to change it or not...

Ok.. if you made it through all of the layouts that I finished this weekend I have a tip for you! I put 12x12 - 6up photo sleeves in the back of the album that I am using and put all of the pictures in them in order. That way when it comes time for me to make a layout I have all of the pics ready and visible.
I also punched holes in the Navigators (the daily schedule that we had on the cruise) and put them with the pics. This helps jog my memory since the cruise was over 2 years ago, and I am keeping them in the album between the pages!

Seashore

Another Disney Cruise layout using the TwoPeasinabucket 4X6 Photo Love course by Shimelle Laine. This time I used the August lesson.. and I LOVE it!
I used the same papers and techniques as I did in my other Disney Cruise album pages

This is what you see when you first look at the page in the album:
And a closer look:

But when you turn the page you see...

I love this!!! I trimmed the page protector for the first page down (after I had the pages made) and sewed them together on the "stitch" line. I also added a little glossy accents to the ends of the stitching to make sure that it does not come out. I love how many pictures I got onto "1" page. The original sketch used 8 pictures, but I fit 11 on mine!
Here are the close ups of the inside parts of this layout.

I cut the title on my Cricut using the  Life is a Beach cartridge. I covered it with Zig 2 way glue and sand. I love the texture of the mesh, shells and sand on this page!

First Plane Ride

Here is another layout that I made for our Disney Cruise 2009 album. This trip was not only our first cruise, but the first time that the girls were on an airplane! The papers are from the same DCWV stack and the sketch that I used is the March 4x6 Photo Love sketch, just rotated 90 degrees. I die cut and stamped the planes and clouds from the PTI Fly Away stamp set and the Cloud 1 & 2 dies. I embossed the shapes with the cuttlebug dot embossing folder and used SU Dimensionals to pop up some of the clouds and the planes. I used the same paint/ shimmer spray splatter technique as I did on the cover page.

2009 Disney Cruise - Cover Page

Ok.. I really have been crafting, I just have not been posting! In 2009 we went on the best vacation ever, a Disney Cruise. We are going again in May and I figured that it was probably time I sat down and finished (ok.. started) our album before I had to do another! The getting started was a struggle for me. I had well over 300 pictures to sort through and group. I finally purchased some 6 up photo sleeves that fit in a 12 x 12 album and arranged all of the pictures by topic in those. Eric and I weeded out a good 200 pictures while watching TV one night. This was a huge boost to my motivation!

The other struggle that I had  was finding patterned paper. I had an overall scheme in mind for the album already. Most of the pictures are very saturated, with a lot of turquoise, red and yellow in them. Taking a queue from Shimelle Laine I decided that all of the pages would be on white CS, have PP accents and have glimmer mist (actual and homemade) splattered on them to keep the album consistent. After looking online, going to an LSS, Hobby Lobby and Michaels I finally found a PP stack with all of the colors I needed from DCWV (Citrus). The only problem was that there was not a 12x12 stack available at Michaels (of course I found it today online...) only an 8x8. So now I have to get creative...

For my cover page I decided to use the 6X8 of us with Mickey in the cruise terminal, and "modified" the sketch from the January 4x6 Photo Love Class by Shimelle and Two Peas in a Bucket.

Sweet Sisters

This layout was for two challenges. One a personal challenge to use my stash, and one was for the Two Peas in a Bucket 4x6 Photo Love course for March. All paper supplies were from my stash, purchased a couple of years ago at CKC- Kansas City. I think that it was My Minds Eye. The butterfly stamp is from Inkadinkado, circle stamp from Papertrey Ink, Ink from Momento, Butterfly die is from Stampin Up.
