Before cleaning up my workspace from the mini album I decided to make a coordinating card to go with the gift. The CS, stamp and ink is from PTI. I misted the Melon Berry CS with some homemade perfect pearls mist and ran it through my cuttlebug with the Damask Impression Plate. I layered the Teresa Collins PP, a sticker form the collection and a strip of CS that I stamped the sentiment (also PTI) on. I added a couple of the butterfly die cuts from teh collection and some SU Pearls.

On the Scrap Happy forum someone started a "Chinese Whispers" challenge of sorts. We each start with a Sketch which we send to the coordinator, and then we complete a layout based on that sketch. We then send that layout to the next person on the list who will complete a layout based on it. The layouts will keep getting passed around until they reach the "end" and then the original sketch will be revealed. It will be interesting to see how the layouts progressed compared to the original sketch!
This is the layout that I sent to the next person on the list. The PP and banner is from Little Yellow Bicycle. The butterflies are cut from the SU butterfly die, in both blue (PTI) and a printed vellum that has been in my stash for years, and layered together. The sketch that I started with is Sketch 288 from Scrapbook Challenges. As you can see I already deviated from the sketch by moving the title to the top instead of under the photos, and using the curly frame instead of a circle.

Mini Album for Aunt Rose Marie
For Christmas this past year I gave my Aunt Rose Marie an IOU for a mini album of her grandchildren. I wanted to have the pictures first so that I could build the mini around them.. but I have not been successful in getting good photo files from my cousins. So I decided to go ahead and make the mini album without the pics. I did get a few pics printed (that I need to pick up from Wal Mart!) but the quality is poor so I think that I will use temporary adhesive so that we can switch out the photos later.
I used the same album format as I did for the baby album I made last month. This time I used another Teresa Collins collection - Spring Fling, and PTI CS and Ribbon. The pearls are from SU.

Shimelle's Weekend Challenges
I decided to play along with Shimelle's Craft Weekend posts this weekend. I made 3 pages based in her challenges, and plan to do a few more of them before the deadline next weekend.
The first page "Great Grandma" was created for Challenge 11 - Two Patterns. This Teresa Collins - Spring Fling PP was still on my workspace after finishing a min album for my Aunt this week. I added some Thickers for the title, but the rest is from the Spring Fling collection.
The next layout that I completed was created using Challenge 2 - Mixing Papers. The pink PP in the background is a really old piece of baby themed paper from American Traditional. The black floral transparency is from Ki Memories, and the pink and white chevron is from the Bella Blvd - Spring Flings and Easter Things collection. This challenge was really outside of my comfort zone as I typically use all of 1 collection, or a kit that has been prepared by someone else. I am not that good at putting them together myself!
The rub-on frame around the focal image, the heart button in the title and the camera brad have all been in my stash for years. I also used some 7 Gypsies stickers, Thickers Alphas, Tim Holtz washi tape and the black swirly border sticker is from Queen and Co.
The last layout that I completed today is for Challenge 10 - Something Bold. I have had these patterned papers from Stampin Up (I think??) for years. My daughter Megan took this picture after her last ballet class of the year, and her note in the picture says it all. I could not come up with a title, so I decided to leave it be. I can always add one later if it really bothers me.

Lauren
I have been trying to keep the layouts pretty even when it comes to layouts that focus on just one of the girls. I started with Shimelle's starting point for last week and the Echo Park - Yours Truly collection.
After I had everything layered the way that I wanted I lightly tacked down the squares to each other and then took the entire stack off so that I could mist the background. I used some homemade glimmer spray and a Tattered Angels Glimmer screen on the background. After I reassembled the starting point on the new background I matted the black and white photo of Lauren on some pink CS from my scrap bin, punched some circles using the Martha Stewart scalloped circle punch and added some heart stickers from the collection. There are also some pink Stickles dotted on the page, and more stickers from the collection as a title and sub-title. I do not typically use black and white photos, or this color scheme. I am glad that I stepped outside of my comfort zone and I love the result!
