More Wedding Gift Card Holders

An old friend from high school saw my last post about the gift card holder that I made for Kathy and Kell's wedding, and asked me to make 2 for her! This time... I actually wrote down measurements and took pictures of each step! So here you go!

You will need:

5 sheets of 8.5 x 11 white cardstock.

2-3 sheets of accent cardstock/ paper. I used 8.5 x 11 and needed 3 sheets, but with 12 x 12 you will only need 2.

Adhesive and embellishments of your choice. I used:

Cuttlebug embossing folders: Swiss Dots & D'vine Swirl and the Embossing Borders were from the With Love set.

Cricut Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge for monograms

PTI Ribbon, CS, Stamps and Ink, Misc bling and pearls from Hobby Lobby, Prima flowers, SU butterfly die and slot punch, Christmas Red Stickles

For the box base:

Cut 4 sheets of white cardstock at 8.5 x 8.5, and score each at 4.25 in both directions.

Cut out one of the 4.25 squares leaving you with an "L" shaped piece of CS. Save these for the cake!

Adhere the 4 "L"s until you have a large square

For the lid:

Cut last sheet of white CS at 6.5 x 6.5 and score at 1" on each side
Slit on 4 score lines to make tabs, adhere to form the box lid

For the cake:

Using the scraps from your box base, you need to leave 1 square at 4.25 and cut 1 square at 3.75 & one at 3.25.

Score all 3 squares at .75 on each side and follow the directions for the lid

Adhere cake layers together with liquid adhesive (I used Zip Dry Paper Glue)

Now you are ready to embellish! Cut 10- 4" squares out of your accent paper. I ran 6 through my Cuttlebug embossing folders, and the other 4 I added an embossed border to and used the SU slot punch to hold the gift cards in.

I cut butterflies from the scraps for one of the boxes, and used Prima flowers and lots of bling for the other.
