I have been keeping up.. I promise! I just have not been good about posting the layouts here. I have been using a lot of the October Afternoon- Sidewalks collection and the Simple Stories - Fabulous Collection this LOAD. I think that I will try to use every bit of the two collections during this challenge.

Day 12 - Valentines Day 2010. Horrible lighting but cute pictures!

Day 13 - Bowling Fun using more of the October Afternoon - Sidewalks collection

Day 14 - Megan's 1st grade photo using Simple Stories Fab-U-lous Collection

Day 15 - Spring using October Afternoon - Sidewalks collection

Day 16 - Lauren's pre-school photo. This layout will go next to the one of Megan above in the album

Valentines Card

We made up a couple more pencil valentines for some neighbors, and using the same supplies I whipped up this Valentines Card for the grown ups.
Pink CS is from my stash, the PP is from K&Co ( I am almost done using the stack!) The heart/ friend stamp and coordinating heart punch is from Stampin Up, and the Inks are Papertrey Ink.

Valentines

This weekend we made Valentines for Megan and Lauren's valentines parties next week. I did not want to wait until the last minute and end up having to buy them. (ummm not that that has ever happened before...)
So, while the girls were watching a movie I got everything prepped. I used the scalloped heart nestabilities to cut out a bunch (50ish) of hearts from a K&Co Valentines paper pack that I bought last year, and then used the next size down to cut out a bunch of white hearts. I also cut a bunch of white CS down to 5 x 2. These were folded and stapled so that it would hold a pencil. I did not take a clear picture of these unfortunately.
Finally I stamped a bunch of hearts in different colors using a SU stamp that my sister was kind enough to let me borrow and then punched them out with the coordinating punch.  Once all of this was done I gathered some glue, the pencils (Target and Wal-Mart), a small "Be Mine" stamp, and an ink pad (both Papertrey Ink) and got everything set up on the dining room table.

Excuse the tablecloth.. this is our craft and playdough tablecloth!

You can kind of see the folded/ stapled piece in the above picture. This is what the girls wrote the To/ From lines on.

Then they stamped the "Be Mine" sentiment on the white hearts

Then they got to glue together all of the hearts

And then I attached them to the folded backing...

 and added the pencils!

Valentine Decor

I found this frame at the dollar store and knew that I wanted to make some Valentines decor with it.

So I took off the backing
and gathered my supplies that I wanted to work with. K&Co Paper, Papertrey Ink Felt, Nestabilities scalloped heart die and misc ribbon from my stash.

I cut the paper to 6X6 (the opening is about 5.5 x 5.5) and added my hearts. But I did not like it...

So I grabbed the next size up die and some scrap white cardstock and cut more hearts... much better!

I glued the hearts in place, and used tape to adhere the paper to the frame, and stapled on the ribbon. This way it is easy to change out!

I think that I want to add the word "Love" to the bottom right of the frame. I just need to find the right letters or break out the Cricut to make them!

Valentine Layout

I was in a Valentines mood this weekend and decided to scrapbook a picture of the girls from Valentines Day 2009.

The background paper is from a K&Co paper pack. I have had the Rhonda Farrer (i think) photo frame for ages.. as well as the journaling paper. There is also a piece of Making Memories journaling paper behind the one that I actually wrote on. I sprayed some heart doilies with Glimmer Mist, stitched some tulle over the "lace" printed on the PP and added some red bling from Hobby Lobby.

It is not my absolute favorite layout.. but I am trying to let go of the perfectionist and just start scrapping again! I figure a dozen layouts that are not my absolute favorite is better than just having 1 layout that I love. I will never "catch up" at that rate!

I crafted!!

This weekend I actually had the opportunity to play in my clean craft room! I started with this card:
All supplies are Papertrey ink except for the Cuttlebug Embossing folder for the sentiment, and the pearls which came from Hobby Lobby. I cut a bunch of felt hearts with the smallest scalloped heart nestabilities (I do not have the Heart Prints dies yet..) and just  played around with them for a while. I finally decided to stitch them across the middle, but wanted something behind the hearts to anchor them. I embossed the image from the Mat Stack 1 Collection with white embossing powder, and then stitched the hearts right on top of it. I added some Fresh Snow ink to the edges and the embossed sentiment, and topped it off with some pearls.

Love Banner

I have been wanting to make a banner for ages... and this weekend I finally did! The girls wanted to decorate for Valentines Day, but unfortunately I do not have much in the way of Valentines Day decor. So down to the craft room I went!

I started with a paper pack from K&Co (I think) that I got for last years Valentine Project. I cut the PP at 6 x 10, and the white CS (PTI) at 7 x 10.5. I made a mark at the center of one of the short sides and trimmed my paper from the corner to my mark making the pennant shape. It was super easy! I used my SU Scallop border punch on the CS which was a pain.. but it looks great!

The large flowers are Heidi Swapp, and the rest of the flowers and the pearls are SU. I misted the medium flower with Glimmer Mist to make it a light pink. I cut vintage sheet music with the largest Nestabilities scallop circle die (well, the largest that I own), sprayed it with a little glimmer mist and crinkled it up. The chipboard letters were painted with Tim Holtz Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers. I "pounced" the paint on to get the texture. The lace trim was from Wal-Mart I believe, and I have had it for quite a while.

Valentines Day

I did not get this done in time to submit it to the Craft Critique Valentines Carnival, but there are HUNDREDS of ideas over there!

I altered this notebook for Eric for Valentines Day. The intent is to keep it in the bedroom and use it to pass notes back and forth to each other.

2009 02 12_0704

The notebook is from Ecojet, purchased at Archivers. PP- Creative Imaginations; Heart pin and red letter stickers- MM; Black letter stickers - Deja Views; Jeweled heart, large red heart charm, "gold" heart and key - Hobby Lobby; Ink - Vintage Cream ink, PTI & Black Soot Distress Ink, Tim Holz; Ribbon, wire, envie and the black beads were from my stash.

The black beads used to be on a necklace that broke. The envelope was white, so I inked it with PTI's Vintage Cream ink and them used the Black Soot ditress ink on the edges. I also ran the Vintage Cream ink along the edges of the notebook.
