Mini Album for Aunt Rose Marie

For Christmas this past year I gave my Aunt Rose Marie an IOU for a mini album of her grandchildren. I wanted to have the pictures first so that I could build the mini around them.. but I have not been successful in getting good photo files from my cousins. So I decided to go ahead and make the mini album without the pics. I did get a few pics printed (that I need to pick up from Wal Mart!) but the quality is poor so I think that I will use temporary adhesive so that we can switch out the photos later.

I used the same album format as I did for the baby album I made last month. This time I used another Teresa Collins collection - Spring Fling, and PTI CS and Ribbon. The pearls are from SU.

Shimelle's Weekend Challenges

I decided to play along with Shimelle's Craft Weekend posts this weekend. I made 3 pages based in her challenges, and plan to do a few more of them before the deadline next weekend.
The first page "Great Grandma" was created for Challenge 11 - Two Patterns. This Teresa Collins - Spring Fling PP was still on my workspace after finishing a min album for my Aunt this week. I added some Thickers for the title, but the rest is from the Spring Fling collection.

The next layout that I completed was created using Challenge 2 - Mixing Papers. The pink PP in the background is a really old piece of baby themed paper from American Traditional. The black floral transparency is from Ki Memories, and the pink and white chevron is from the Bella Blvd - Spring Flings and Easter Things collection. This challenge was really outside of my comfort zone as I typically use all of 1 collection, or a kit that has been prepared by someone else. I am not that good at putting them together myself!
The rub-on frame around the focal image, the heart button in the title and the camera brad have all been in my stash for years. I also used some 7 Gypsies stickers, Thickers Alphas, Tim Holtz washi tape and the black swirly border sticker is from Queen and Co.

The last layout that I completed today is for Challenge 10 - Something Bold. I have had these patterned papers from Stampin Up (I think??) for years. My daughter Megan took this picture after her last ballet class of the year, and her note in the picture says it all. I could not come up with a title, so I decided to leave it be. I can always add one later if it really bothers me.

Lauren

I have been trying to keep the layouts pretty even when it comes to layouts that focus on just one of the girls. I started with Shimelle's starting point for last week and the Echo Park - Yours Truly collection.

After I had everything layered the way that I wanted I lightly tacked down the squares to each other and then took the entire stack off so that I could mist the background. I used some homemade glimmer spray and a Tattered Angels Glimmer screen on the background. After I reassembled the starting point on the new background I matted the black and white photo of Lauren on some pink CS from my scrap bin, punched some circles using the Martha Stewart scalloped circle punch and added some heart stickers from the collection. There are also some pink Stickles dotted on the page, and more stickers from the collection as a title and sub-title. I do not typically use black and white photos, or this color scheme. I am glad that I stepped outside of my comfort zone and I love the result!

More Shimelle Inspriration!

I used another Shimelle sketch/ class as inspiration for this page. This time from the September 4x6 Photo Love. I have had this Hambly transparency in my stash for at least a year now.. but could never find the "perfect" way to use it! I had a lot of photos from a water gun fight last summer that I wanted to scrap, but I did not want to go the double page spread route. I used this same layout last month as well, but it was for a different album so even though it is pretty distinctive I thought that it was safe for me to use it again.
I broke out the Echo Park - Summer Days collection again for this page. I am in a bright color mood lately! I am not really loving the "water gun fight" title, and will probably switch out the letter stickers for something a little cleaner, most likely white, since there is so much going on on the page. I also need to track down the date to add to the Fun in the Sun journaling spot, and add the journaling to the pull out cards. I was losing the light and wanted to take a decent picture before it got too dark!

She is a natural

The girls did not have swim lessons tonight, so after they got home from school I went down to play in my craft room! For this layout I started with a sketch from Shimelle Lain and a Penny Lane collection pack.
I flipped the sketch since I wanted my photos to face into the page, but kept everything else the same.

After I adhered all of the base pieces down I started to play with the stack in the middle. I am not so good with the stacking that Shimelle does. I love how it looks.. but it takes me forever to commit! I started (well.. not really started but it ended up on the bottom) with a journal page from an old MM journal page book., and then I added a large white tag that I have no clue where it came from. I Distress inked the edges, added a random pink tag from my stash, another journaling piece and some elements from the Penny Lane kit. The title uses American Crafts Thickers, the pins are from Maya Road, and I used the MS butterfly punch and some pink stickles to add some movement to the page.

One More Thing

Ok, the title of the layout does not really match the picture, but I liked the little post it note as a journaling block! I decided to challenge myself. For every layout I make using a new collection, I have to make one using some of my older stash. For today I broke out some old Basic Grey PP, and used Shimelle's starting point for last week. I started my journaling stack with the post it note and the green Prima packaging. The little blue scalloped piece is actually cut from an MM frame from the Noteworthy collection. The butterflies were punched from some DCWV CS, prayed with Party Pink glimmer mist and have some Eucalyptus Stickles in the center. The blue flower border sticker is from the Basic Grey- Urban Prarie collection. The pink scalloped circle border was cut out of the same pink DCWV CS using my Cricut and an SVG file from Krisi's Kreations. I also used some Hambly Washi Tape and a Basic Grey tag, and fussy cut a bird from the PP used on the top, and added the Eucalyptus Stickles around some of the birds for dimension... and sparkle!

Excursion time - Just Add Water

Back to the Disney album! I really am determined to finish it this month! This layout has pictures of Dwayne and Carla on their way to an excursion in one of the ports. I used Shimelle's starting point for this layout, and I am still using up the Splash Collection.
Supplies: PP: Echo Park; CS: DCWV; Stickers: American Crafts, Echo Park; Other: Dew Drops, Homemade Ink Sprays

Baby Card and Gift Bag

I used the scraps from the mini album and made a card and gift bag for the baby shower gift. I also added an extra pocket to the back of the mini album to hold some journaling spots punched from the same PTI CS with the SU label punch. For the gift bag I used Shimelle's starting point that she posted today.

Baby Shower Gift - Mini Album

Ok, I did not work on the Disney Cruise album this weekend as I had planned, but I did craft! I made a mini album for a baby shower gift. I still need to make the card/ gift card holder, but the mini is done! I used the new Everyday Moments collection from Teresa Collins. I love this collection! The dark blue CS is from Stampin UP , and light blue is from PTI. The mini album design is from Laura at On the Paper Trail. It is her Beaded Matchbook Mini. I made a small change to the length of the pages, but other than that I followed her tutorial!
I matted the outside of the pockets so that a 3.5 x 5 photo can be placed there with a .25" mat all the way around. The tags inside the pockets will hold a 4x6 with just a teeny little border around it on 3 sides and still leaving the patterned paper edge on the right that sticks out from the pockets.
I love the charms hanging from the ribbon on the cover. The silver one I have had in my stash for a few years, it actually came on a gift from Hallmark and says "Children are the greatest gift of all". The other charm is a clear acrylic tag from Tim Holtz that I stamped the baby's name on in Staz-On using a PTI aplha set.
I am linking up to Scrap Scene's WIP Monday post!

I did it!!! LOAD Days 27-29

Oh wow.. I can not believe that February is over and that I actually completed a layout every single day last month! And it was not as hard as I thought it would be!
Day 27 - For this layout I used the 4x6 Photo Love - September layout by Shimelle Lain and 2 Peas. The green "tags" pull put and have more photos on the back. I actually had this just on the white background at first.. but it was too plain. I had already stitched the transparency to the CS though. So I decided to go with Kraft to complement the embellishments and did the same ink splattering on it. I cut it down to fit inside the pocket, and it looks like it was meant to be there!
Supplies: The Kraft CS is Bazzill, White CS is Recollections, Tim Holtz Tissue tape, K&Co Smash Tape, PTI ribbon, PP and green CS. Hambly Transparency, EKSuccess stickers
Day 28 - Hugs from Minnie -This layout was a quickie since I did not feel good.
Supplies: CS - White:Recollections, Orange: DCWV, Blue: PTI;  KI Memories stickers, Thickers alphas, Hambly transparency
Day 29 - Love Always - Lauren made this heart in school for valentines day. When she brought it home I asked if I could use it in my scrapbook and almost every day since she has asked me when I am going to scrapbook it. I let her choose which photo to use, and she chose this self portrait of herself with Sira
Supplies: Kraft CS - Bazzill, Pink and White CS - PTI, KI Memories scribbles, White gel pen (can't remember!!) and homemade glimmer sprays in red, white and pink.
My LOAD stack! 32 pages (a couple were double page spreads)

LOAD Days 21-26

Ok, I was chastised by Sira yesterday for not posting my LOAD layouts more frequently! Here are days 21-26... yes, I have actually been keeping up!

Day 21 - Grown up time! I actually scrapped a pic of just me, and my Chocolate Martini of course, for the Disney Cruise album! I want to add some white mist... but I do not have any, and the online stores that I usually shop at are all of of the ones that I am looking for!
Supplies: American Crafts Thicker alphas, Echo Park - Splash journaling block, DCWV CS, Fiskars border punch, very old MM metal rimmed tag, Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, EK Sucess Mickey Bling, and misc other embellishments from my stash.

Day 22 - I wish I was a fish - This layout has pics of us walking to the beach at Castaway Cay.
Supplies: Stickers and PP from the Echo Park - Splash collection, DCWV white CS, homemade red mist, Chalkboard Glimmer mist (yellow) and blue Smooch?

Day 23 -  Smile - Simple layout using a large family photo and a bunch of old supplies from my stash.
Supplies: Prima flowers, SU Pearls. PTI label die, KI Memories scribbles, PTI CS, misc PP from my scrap bins.

Day 24 - The Shows -  I did a lot of stamping on the background along with some misting for this double page spread.
Supplies: DCWV CS, American Crafts Thickers, PTI stamps, PTI and SU ink, homemade red mist, Echo Park - Splash Collection paper, PTI ticket die and stamps

Day 25 - Another day in Paradise. I actually covered the sand castle in spray adhesive and sand.
Supplies: DCWV CS, Echo Park - Splash collection stickers, Maya Road stickpin, misc shell sequins and ribbon

LOAD Days 16-20

Even though I am not posting them every day here... I am still keeping up with LOAD!
Day 16 - I continued with the Disney Cruise scrapbooking with a layout about all of the towel animals that waited for us when we returned from dinner each evening!. The CS and PP is DCWV, the title was cut from my Cricut. The bottom photo is actually the cover of a little flip book with 4 more photos beneath it.

Day 17 - Journaling reads: Eric had to stop and check out the Police Station in Tortola, and took a picture of a police car (SUV?) in St Thomas.
The PP is an ancient piece of Chatterbox, CS is DCWV, misc ribbon from my stash.  The foam alphas are from Hobby Lobby. I was really proud of the text circles. I punched these from our cruise documents...from the section that talks about no weapons being allowed on the ship.

Day 18 - Still using up my very old stash! I forgot to write down the manufacturer of the papers I used. The blue striped ribbon ins Doodlebug and the red rick rack has been in my stash for a while. MM ribbon slide and Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher stales were also used.

Day 19 - I took a break from the Disney Layouts to follow the prompt for the day. I also broke out my new Theresa Collins PP collection that somehow I managed to buy two of... Lace is from my stash, and the title was cut from the Cricut using PTI CS and an svg title from Kerri Bradford. I was working on my layering and actually fussy cut the flowers from a sheet of PP.

Day 20 - Back to the cruise album. I really hope that I can finish it by the end of the month! A simple Princess page. Bazzill scalloped circle, Prima bling, I Am Roses flowers, "Princess" bling from Recollections, the rest of the title is from American Crafts. I was out of "l"s in the yellow Thickers so I trimmed a couple of "b"s to use as 'l"s. I could have trimmed a bit more... to smooth it out though.

LOAD Days 14-15, and a redo!

My PALO layout was really bugging me so I decided to change out the background paper.I like it much better on the black Bazzill embossed cs!

My day 14 layout... Happy Birthday Amanda -( let me know if I got the age right!) I need to find the supply list for this one.

For my Day 15 layout I used PP from Little Yellow Bicycle, and PTI CS and Ribbon. I can not remember for sure, but I think that the title stickers are from Doodlebug.  You can not see it well in the pic, but under the journaling there are music notes in a shimmery pink. I used a Tim Holtz stencil and some homemade perfect pearls mist. You can see it much better in person.

LOAD Days 10-13

I have to say that I LOVE LOAD!!! I am keeping all of my LOAD layouts in a pizza style box that I received an order in, and every time I open it to add a new layout I have to flip through all the others that I have completed this month. This is what it looked like last night.. look at that stack!

My Day 10 layout is Playing with Papa. I used an older Pink Paislee collection that I have had in my stash for a few years. The Chipboard letters are from Heidi Swapp, and I think that the flower is too. I just love these photos of my Dad playing with the girls in their playhouse. I have added another red sticker in the bottom right corner with the date, but forgot to take a new picture!
Day 11s layout is about Sira's first day of school, and her first time riding the "famous yellow school bus" on the second day of school. I believe that these papers are from Bo Bunny, the flowers are Maya Road, the title was cut from a Kerri Bradford svg file, the smaller pieces of paper (photo mat, title, journaling block, etc) are from Papertrey Ink.

Day 12 is another Disney Cruise layout. When we were in Castaway Cay we saw Santa! (He was actually a professional Santa) and he let Megan take a pic with him. The PP is from Pinecone Press, and I die cut and stamped the banner with PTIs Banner Builder set.

Day 13 was a simple one. I had a super busy day yesterday and threw this together real quick. I do not really love it.. but I am not sure what to do about it! I stamped and embossed the PTI swirls on a piece of white CS. The red CS mat is also from PTI. (Now that I look at it I wonder if it would be better on red CS with clear embossed swirls and a black mat. I think that the white is too high contrast..)

LOAD Days 8 & 9

I am so proud of my ever growing stack of completed layouts for LOAD!
I knew exactly what photos I needed to use for the Day 8 prompt. I took these photos not long after Judy's headstone was installed. The girls love visiting "Grandma Judy's stone" and bringing her flowers. The title is actually the top of a large tag that pulls out for more photos and journaling (that I have not written yet). The PP is from SU, cardstock is PTI, I used some Prima (i think) pearl bling, the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and some misc trim and brad from my stash.

Day 9 was all about home.  While this is NOT the pic that I intended on using for this prompt, it worked out perfectly. The PP, blue alphas and the flowers are from the MM Noteworthy collection. I also used the Martha Stewart butterfly punch on some book paper, and spritzed it all with some Gold Glimmer Mist. I am not sure where the green alphas are from, but I have had them forever!
